A beautiful and truly unique App that awards points for being quiet! The App has a colorful animated interface that is mesmerizing and gives constant feedback on the noise level in the room. It calibrates to the current noise level in the room and uses that as a starting base level. The objective is to gain as many points as possible. You can compete against previous records or other people i.e. Mr. A s 1st hour class versus Mr. A s 2nd hour class. Points start at 100 and if the environment gets louder points are deducted. If the sound level remains the same or lower then points are gained! Incidental quick sounds are not tallied against the point value only sustained loud sounds. Works in very quiet environments or loud environments. The App first calibrates and listens to any constant background noise and then negates that in the calculations. Examples of these types of background noises would be room fans, cafeteria noise through thin walls, small group instruction, whole group instruction, project base team work, etc. This App was developed in a middle school and the students were extremely enthusiastic about its use. Constant use of this app develops habits of being quiet!
